REWARDS GUIDE · FOR VENUE MANAGERS

Give guests a reason to return without giving away the bill.

A useful comeback reward feels valuable to the guest, costs little to fulfil and becomes useful only when they place another order. This guide shows how to build that system.

IN THIS GUIDE

Four sections. About five minutes before you open setup.

01

Feels valuable

The guest immediately understands why it is worth coming back.

02

Costs little

Judge the ingredient, labour or capacity cost—not the menu price.

03

Needs a return order

The reward adds to a real second purchase instead of replacing it.

SCREEN-BY-SCREEN

Three decisions. Redeem handles the mechanics.

You do not need to invent odds, spend levels or a financial model. Bring the numbers your team already understands.

01

Start with one honest number

Use the bill a normal guest usually pays.

Do not use your biggest table or your cheapest item. Choose the amount one typical guest spends on an ordinary visit. Redeem uses it to suggest return-order minimums and reachable reward levels.

Manager tip: If bills vary a lot, use the middle of your last 20 ordinary orders.

02

Choose the everyday win

Pick treats that feel generous and are inexpensive to fulfil.

A guest should recognise the value immediately. Your team should be able to hand it over during a busy shift without asking a manager. Redeem makes the lowest-cost treat the most common win.

Manager tip: A drink, side, dessert, add-on or service upgrade usually works better than discounting the whole bill.

03

Review the complete system

Start balanced, check the limits, then put it live.

The review shows everyday wins, longer-term levels, the minimum comeback order and an estimated monthly cost. Start with the version your team can honour confidently. You can adjust it after seeing real redemptions.

Manager tip: Percent discounts need a cash cap. A reward without a clear limit can become expensive on a large table.

STARTING RECIPES

Adapt one. Do not copy it blindly.

Your own cost, normal bill and staff capacity decide the final reward.

Café or bakery

Example bill: ₦8,000

Everyday win

Free pastry, cookie or coffee add-on

Reachable level

10% off after about 3 visits, capped at ₦1,500

Why it works: Small items feel complete, are easy to serve and protect the main order value.

Casual restaurant

Example bill: ₦15,000

Everyday win

Free starter, side or dessert

Reachable level

₦2,500 off after about 3 visits

Why it works: The reward adds to a meal instead of replacing the reason for the visit.

Bar or lounge

Example bill: ₦30,000

Everyday win

Free mocktail or shared small plate

Reachable level

₦5,000 off after about 3 visits

Why it works: A visible table treat creates a moment without discounting the full night out.

Salon or spa

Example bill: ₦25,000

Everyday win

Free add-on or service upgrade

Reachable level

10% off after about 3 visits, capped at ₦4,000

Why it works: An upgrade has clear perceived value and usually uses less capacity than a free core service.

BEFORE GUESTS SCAN

Run one reward like a real shift.

Let one staff member play the guest and another confirm the purchase. Surface unclear wording, unavailable items and till confusion before a customer does.

  1. 01Every reward has a name staff and guests understand in one sentence.
  2. 02The reward is available on an ordinary day, not only when one manager is present.
  3. 03The comeback minimum still leaves room for a normal order.
  4. 04Percent discounts have a cash cap and all unusual terms are written down.
  5. 05Till staff have tried one test redemption before the QR reaches guests.
